When consumers look at 2 laptops both of the same internal components and notice a $200-300 increase in price to gain 2-3 extra inches of screen the question of value vs. price arises. I had a personal experience quite similar to this once. I was purchasing a macbook pro and had 2 options, 15″ or 17″. It was a 200$ price increase but the quality of picture seemed better as well. My apple salesperson at the store said that, “It would be crazy to purchase these extra inches unless I was a director or video editor.”I was now unsure of which model to purchase though my instincts pointed towards the larger screen. This could just be my natural lust for the biggest and best though. I wanted to make sure I made the right choice so I called a friend and he said get the larger one, so I did. 2 years later when I reflect of my decision I am very pleased because those extra inches have made multi-tasking much easier, given me a much better dvd experience with friends, and better gaming experience. Think about how many times you need to have 2 browsing windows displayed or a safari window and word document opened at the same time. Quite frequently? correct? 2 little inches of screen makes this possible. Unless it is outrageous increase in price, pay for the extra inches because it will certainly make life that much easier.
