A Socialist President’s Feelings on “Playstation”

by admin on April 29, 2010

January 18, 2010 - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez referred to video games as “poison” during his weekly radio-TV show “Alo Presidente.”  ”Those games they call ‘PlayStation’ are poison,” Chavez said. “Some games teach you to kill. They once put my face on a game, ‘you’ve got to find Chavez to kill him.” Then he said games where the players “bomb cities or just throw bombs” are sold by capitalist countries looking to “promote the need for cigarettes, drugs and alcohol so they can sell them.” This is referring to mercenaries 2 a game which I was searching for a review on when I came across this much more interesting occurrence. I bought the game at best buy for 8$ and found it to be quite fun, but back to the point there is nothing insinuating anything about him in this game. There is no bombing of city’s occupied by civilians either. Also another fact is there are no messages promoting drugs etc,. In the end game it is the United States vs. China hence my confusion with the president’s statements. Please comment on this rather embarrassing happening
