The Orange Deer Hat

by admin on March 18, 2011

This daze occurred when I made the unfortunate discovery that I had lost my beloved orange deer hunting hat. I had careless left it on the deck of my small 17 foot Carolina Skiff . I realized this shortly after motoring down the sound for about an hour, en route to the gulf of Mexico. It was surprising to feel so despairing over well only a hat. Why care so much about a hat? I thought about this myself and I think that articles of clothing we wear almost everyday during a particular stage in our life actually represent that part of our life. Therefore losing my hat signals a new stage of my life is beginning. I acknowledge that I may be simply helplessly insane but why not search for deeper meaning from a very simple occurrence.

You had to let loose the hat to get the Dolphin’s attention.

on behalf of those who’ve had to live with the ‘hat”- divine intervention.
